Case History > Chiron Corporation
Services: Planning, production, and hosting of educational and training conference programs.
Chiron's marketing and sales departments brought us back to San Francisco for the second consecutive year to assist their Oncology and Pulmonology divisions with their annual sales conference.
We produced and Rick Cram hosted these programs that had everyone engaged, participating, and learning.
Themed, Interactive Educational Program
This program was created to promote a theme regarding the future of the organization. It's perfect for placing an emphasis on the success of the past and motivating attendees to achieve the immediate goals. This can be customize to reflect many other themes, as well.
The Format
A full-audience participation Q&A session in which everyone participated simultaneously. The various regional sales divisions/teams competed for points and prizes, as their knowledge was tested on key product information.
The Technology
An audience response system (ARS) included a wireless keypad for each person. A mutliple-choice question would be presented on a screen, everyone keyed in their choice for the correct answer, and after a polling period of ten seconds, instantly the results of the poll were projected on a large screen.
With the sophisticated ARS technology we viewed how the entire group voted and how each team voted. (It even has the ability to report how each individual performed.)
Creative Programming
A creative, multimedia "Year In Review" was presented at the beginning of the program and again...featuring different years...between each round of questions. Using photographs, music and Rick Cram's host talents, each year matched the significant events of the company's timeline, recapped the news, movies, music, sports highlights and then the accomplishments made by the company in each year.
In addition, pictures of key executives in their youth and humorous commentary provided roars of laughter.
One last multimedia, futuristic "Year In Review" presentation was made at the end of the program, with forecasts for the future, including how the company will succeed. The session concluded with prizes awarded to the team that scored the most points based on their accuracy and speed of answering the questions.
The Benefits
The Client said, "it was an overwhelming success," because everyone participated in a high-quality production that was educational and motivating.
While this program is perfect for themes regarding the future of your organization, it can be customized to reflect many other themes.
Creative Sales Training Workshops
The Format
A combination of a competitive Q&A and role-playing program was the format for a series of training break-out sessions. Teams of salespeople would race to answer product related questions and earn the chance to score extra points based on how well they performed in a role-playing exercise.
The Technology
A giant interactive screen and a lock-out, first response "buzzer" system were used to facilitate the Q&A program. A large screen displayed the questions, as well as multiple sales scenarios the players could select for their role-playing.
The Program
Rick Cram hosted the program and the salespeople performed their "verbalization" to him as two executives judged each salesperson's performance. Music, the A/V features and some staging created an effective setting. Players cheered each other on throughout the program. And points and prizes were awarded at the end.
The Benefits
The Client said, "it was an overwhelming success," because the pressure of role-playing in front of peers was eased which gave the salespeople the chance to practice and learn key information that will help them be more successful in the field.
